Death Is Nothing At All.

Today was difficult for our family for we gathered at the family cemetary together, a final resting place, and said goodbye to a man that meant the world to us. Our dad. Not only was he a dad, he was also a grandfather, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend to many. He was and is so loved.
I hope he has found peace, comfort and healing in that beautiful place called heaven with his parents, sisters and brother.
……..

This poem brings me comfort and I hope it does for you too…

Death is nothing at all.
I have only slipped away to the next room. I am I and you are you. Whatever we were to each other, That, we still are.

Call me by my old familiar name. Speak to me in the easy way which you always used. Put no difference into your tone. Wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow.

Laugh as we always laughed at the little jokes we enjoyed together. Play, smile, think of me. Pray for me. Let my name be ever the household word that it always was. Let it be spoken without effect. Without the trace of a shadow on it.

Life means all that it ever meant. It is the same that it ever was. There is absolute unbroken continuity. Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight?

I am but waiting for you. For an interval. Somewhere. Very near. Just around the corner.

All is well.

Foto Friday.

Here’s a foto Friday of Olive as we are getting ready to head to the bust stop to get Brandon who has been anxiously anticipating his week long vacation.

I’ve been thinking a lot lately. Struggling with emotions like a rollercoaster.

I realize now, the day dad passed away will not overshadow his life or the memories we shared. The love he showed and gave to us will last a lifetime.

Thinking of him today and always. Miss you dad.
